Hello,
Is it recommended that we create a duplicate of the OOTB Service Portal in Helsinki and customise the duplicate version and keep the original one as is? I vaguely remember this practice is advocated for ESS development work and wondered if it's the case with the new SP and if there's any pitfalls of either approach?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Viraj,
Yes we can do that. Do not change anything in out of the box functionality just copy it and make your new one and change in your new one.
I have also done in this way.

Shamma

I would recommend to use the OOB Service Portal. But you can always clone widgets and customize the SP pages.
The main motto is to keep the widgets as is, so you can not modify OOB widgets.
I would recommend you to use OOB SP with minimum customization.

Hi Prasun,
Is there any problem to make a copy of it and make changes in copy one rather than making the changes in oob one?
I always follow this practise.

Shamma

Hi Shamma,
There is no any problem to create a copy of OOTB service portal. Rather it is recommended to clone OOTB widget and customize it as your requirement.
Thanx,
