Copy form section to another view

Is there a quick/easy way to copy a section of a form view to another?

I have created a number of sections for the emergency change form and now i want the same sections on my standard change form(with a couple tweaks). Am i stuck rebuilding the sections?

I couldn't resist investigating a little more. You can point to a form section of a 'higher' table on the forms.

Re: Multiple forms with same form section

Tried a few, and this seems to work. Now back to the drawing board to create generic sections on cmdb_ci and refer to those from the extended tables.

Any advise of issues i'll run into?

You can make a copy of the entire form from the Form Designer.

Open the form to copy -> go to Form Designer -> Create new view -> Press the Save button.

All existing sections are being saved on the new view. This does not happen when you use the Form Layout.

I believe this only works for new forms built off of a single table extension... how can I apply this if I want to use the same form layout on a different table extension using the same fields from the extended   (base) table plus new fields on the second extended table?

jkc it took me two hours to find your post but you've saved me even longer, cannot comprehend why this isn't more obvious or documented in a useful way given the failings of the Form Layout manager.

If you are stuck with a legacy install please note that old versions may have the Form Designer but it is disabled by default.
The plugin to enable is com.glide.ui.ng.fd

Hmm, I tried that but I can only create a new View for a given form. If I want to - for instance - copy tailored cmdb_ci_server view to cmdb_ci_linux_server - can I do this with Form Design(er)?

Thanks & regards
