copying a portal

Hi,

I have successfully created a Portal. we are about to roll it out to the other teams for use.

the question is: how do I "copy" or "duplicate" the portal so I can deploy it to other teams with a few minor changes to the looks of the portal without it affecting my original portal from which I duplicated it.

(this is what I have tried and it seems to affect the original portal as well:

I open the original portal that I created, I change the title and the ID, right click to "insert".  this methods seems to affect my original portal if I make any changes).

Do I need to copy and paste each element of the portal ? "home page, Menu, Theme, Header, widgets, angular NG template" etc... is this the only way ? there's got to be an easier way to copy a portal.

will exporting to XML will work? if so, what do you export and how do you import it back?

Hi,

It's got a few steps involved..and isn't OOB, for sure.

Here's a thread about copying exact pages, which may help you: https://community.servicenow.com/community?id=community_question&sys_id=4f2643a1db1cdbc01dcaf3231f96...

Hey Allen,

Could you please provide instructions on how to use this file?

Thank you

Hello,

You would import the XML file using "Load Data". For any further questions, I would ask in that thread as I did not make this set, Chuck did.

I'm just pointing you to a resource.
