Create group by related list for current record.

Hello Experts, 

I need to create a group by related list based on a field on the record. The idea is to show ALL records for a customer so they can be viewed together. Is it possible to match on customer_name field and show all records for that customer? 

Here's what I'm thinking, For example: 

If Customer A has 5 records, when you open one of those records, show all records combined together in a related list, so we can quickly compare few fields from all existing records. 

If you have a better suggestion, I'm open to that as well.

Did you try creating custom relationships. Something similar that I found is for Showing Incidents for the same caller as a related list.

Ah, that's perfect.Exactly what I was looking for. However, this got me thinking if this is possible in the list view, and I don't mean do a group by which then shows you everything in the group by filter. 

For example, a group by in a list view in a way so it shows a > arrow, which then you can show records for group by Company name, same way they would show up in the related list. The idea would be any new record that would show up, you can simply click a > arrow to show related records for the same company regardless of the date the records were created.. Is that doable?
