Hi there. I am trying to create a Requested Item using a Record Producer but when I'm trying it out, it hangs and I have to cancel the submission. I am assuming this is because there is no parent Request but I don't know how to create this.
1. Is my assumption correct?
2. If so, how do I resolve it?
3. If not, what is causing the hang?
I was hoping it would be something simple I could put in the Script field...
I'm using a Record Producer because I've got fed up with the shopping cart experience Service Now seem to love so much. It simply isn't relevant for so many of the forms we ask users to complete. Also, bit of a rant here, why oh why have SN changed the view on Catalog Requests and Record Producers? Getting rid of so many useful (standard!) fields off of the forms, e.g. Order, Workflow, all of the 'show price, cart, quantity' etc. I like the idea of the new forms but need to keep switching back to Legacy view to remember what fields I used to use. Rant over.

You might want to consider using the Service Catalog Script API for creating the Requested Item. Take a look at these wiki articles:

There may be some issue with a onsubmit ctalog client script.Try to deactivate them one by one and try to submit the request after each deactivation.

Hi Wayne,
This is to let you know that record producer cant be used to submit a Requested Item.
Use record producers to provide a better end-user experience instead of using the regular task-based form for creating records. The look and feel of a record producer is similar to that of a catalog item. But the record producer generates a task record such as incident, instead of a requested item.

Please hit helpful or marked correct if this resolved your query.
