Hi @23csb35,
both CSA and CAD are not related to any special area. You can have different ideas or projects for a manufacturer company, for a bank, for a service provider, ... thus it would require more details on what you want do.
In general, ITSM and HRSD are a part of all the companies because it supports their own employees, other modules and its related requirements, standards or needs can vary in each organisation.
You can get inspiration from Success Stories - it's a library of SN customers, some of them you know for sure, some of them you will hear for the first time, you can filter them by industry or products used.
Last but not least, I hate when AI is used too much, but asking it for some project ideas is actually something that I could live in peace :))) just the outputs must be validated at least 15 times 😄
No AI was used in the writing of this post. Pure #GlideFather only

Hi @23csb35
As an SN trainer, I would suggest spending time in the community. There is no dedicated project for CSA or CAD, but if you want daily hands-on practice, spend 2–3 hours in the community. Every day, you’ll find hundreds of questions and answers. Review the questions posted by members, take them as challenges, try to solve them in PDI, then compare your solution with the posted answers. This will help you identify gaps and learn new approaches. This is the best way to improve.
If my response proves useful, please indicate its helpfulness by selecting " Accept as Solution" and " Helpful." This action benefits both the community and me.

Hello @23csb35,
When I think about project ideas, I try to start with what a company would realistically need.
One idea I came up with was a vehicle management solution. A lot of industries like insurance, pest control, utilities, and field services rely heavily on fleet vehicles, and managing those vehicles is often more manual than people realize.
My idea was to design a mobile first experience where personnel could scan a QR code on a vehicle using their phone, quickly check it out, and document the vehicle’s condition with photos. This would create accountability, speed up handoffs, and give the company better visibility into vehicle usage and damage over time.
I like projects like this because they solve a real operational problem and naturally fit into ServiceNow’s strengths around workflows, mobile, and asset tracking.
Here are some additional ideas:
City maintenance tracking
Cities often need to track maintenance requests across multiple departments. You could build a custom application that allows citizens to submit maintenance requests, attach photos, and automatically route those requests to the appropriate teams. This would give you great experience with the service catalog, workflows, and building a custom portal that feels like a real city government application.
Logistics and package tracking
Logistics is a massive industry with constant visibility challenges. You could design an application to track packages through internal handoffs, provide status updates, and keep customers informed of location and expected delivery dates. This would focus more on accountability and transparency rather than just basic shipping status.
Returns and reverse logistics management
Many retail organizations struggle with what happens after a return is received. Each item typically needs to be inspected, then a decision made on whether it goes back on the shelf, is sold in bulk, or is discarded and tracked for shrinkage. A workflow-driven solution to manage inspection, disposition decisions, and reporting would be very realistic and valuable.
I hope this helps!
