Issue: requirement to change the quantity values in shopping cart

Description: Quantity in shopping cart of item based on variable Items selected for the the order guide

This requirement would need a customization on "SC Order Guide" widget which controls the final summary page. In OOB, the quantity column is not editable.  Has anyone customized the OOB widget to accomplish this requirement.

Hi,

Just to clarify, none of this is the "shopping cart". That is a separate feature and as indicated, you'd have to click the "add to cart" button to then be within the shopping cart widget. I know you mentioned "SC Order Guide" widget, but had some verbiage in your post around shopping cart so I just wanted to clear that up.

There is no support out of box, that I'm aware of for the Service Portal to allow the quantity to be adjusted. You can make it adjustable within an order guide, by looking at the rule set, going to the catalog item within the set, uncheck "use cart layout" and then check the box "show quantity". Again, unfortunately, that doesn't work with the Service Portal.

What has been recommended is that you add a quantity variable to those items, use that to have the person select it, then use a business rule or the respective workflow to then set the quantity through script: https://community.servicenow.com/community?id=community_question&sys_id=712e0050db2853400e3dfb651f96...

That thread has some discussion around it, but even 3 years ago, it was a problem, heh.

I find it strange that you have a fix for the problem, its just not available for the service portal?

Thanks for the help.  I will continue to research a possible solution.  Again, thanks for the help.

Hi, alright 🙂

If the suggestion above and what has been previously suggested on the forums doesn't work for you, then yeah, you'd want to keep searching.

Take care!
