Discovery performance issues

We are in the process of implementing Discovery. I ran a discovery on a single CI (router). It discovered the CI but it took an hour to run the discovery. This seems like a very long time to discover one CI. Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot/improve performance?   Thank you!
