downloading reports as grouped

hi all,

our customers are used to seeing a grouped view of data in the list view of a certain table. the grouping is based on a certain field.

when they download the excel file of these records, they would like to have the grouping intact but that is not possible with the out-of-box export to excel feature.

is there are workaround we could look at?

It's grouped by one field and ordered by another, I assume? 

Only workaround I can think of, is changing the order to the 'grouped by' field when they download it to excel.
