Easy Import Functionality

Hi,

 

Since the easy import functionality is restricted to admins only, is there another easy way to users to be able to import data into certain tables ?

 

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @Rachna S Why do you want users other than admin to be able to import? Is there any specific reason or use case for this?

The fact that this is for admins only, has to do with it being a global functionality. That would mean that you would be able to do it on any table. And when you are trying to import data into a table you don't have access to (or fields), you run into issues. Or if you don't have access to the table that is referenced on the table you are updating, it will lead to the same.

What is your use case? I think you should avoid creating technical debt, just because some user needs to do this. Make it an import set table with a transform map so they can add an excel to a catalog item/rp and do it like that. It keeps you in control of what is happening.
