Email Logs: what exactly does SEND-READY and SEND-IGNORED mean?

Not applicable

I am working in a test environment where the SMTP server is off and emails are not actually sent out.

To check proper functioning of email notifications I consult the email logs (sys_email table).

I wanted to know what SEND-READY and SEND-IGNORED mean?

I am assuming that SEND-READY means that had the SMTP server been on, the emails would have been sent out.
I am assuming that SEND-IGNORED means that even with SMTP server on, the emails would still not have been sent out.

Thanks,
Afshin

My understanding was/is the following...

SEND-READY = SNC's mail server has yet to pick this message up and it will be sent at the next interval.

SEND-IGNORED = The SNC mail server did not send this message because this would cause the user to get two of the same message or some other reason caused the system to ignore it.

Additionally based on comments from support the server that sends email is not necessarily your instance. There is a time interval that the mail server waits before it scans for email to be sent.

If anyone knows otherwise I would love to know.

Winner winner chicken dinner.

(Regarding send-ready and send-ignored, anyway. Not sure what Customer Support meant about the "not necessarily your instance" part)

Sweet, I was getting hungry...

Hey Drew,

Added your answers and a little more information of my own to the "Viewing System Logs" page, in the Email section:

The other common reason an email would be "send - ignored" would be if the email was generated but the "recipient" field was blank.
