Hi everyone,
I am currently reviewing and cleaning up a custom application in preparation for a migration to a customer instance. The goal is to ensure that the application structure is as clean and understandable as possible before deployment.
While checking the Dictionary Entries of one of our custom tables, I noticed several entries that appear as ”(empty)” in the Studio navigation under Table Columns. Additionally, there is a dictionary entry with type “Collection” that has no column name.
From what I understand, this entry seems to represent the table definition itself, but in the UI it appears similar to an empty or incomplete field, which can be confusing when reviewing the table structure.
My questions are:
- Is the Collection type dictionary entry without a column name expected and required by ServiceNow for the table definition?
- Is it safe to leave it as is when preparing an application for migration?
- Have others encountered similar ”(empty)” entries in Table Columns, and if so, are they simply metadata or something that should be cleaned up?
I want to avoid removing anything that might be required by the platform, but at the same time ensure that the application structure is clean and clear for the customer environment.
Any clarification or best practices would be appreciated.
Thanks!
