enforce a view from a related list?

I have form for people (ITIL view) where the supporters can gather various information about the ESS users.
This form now holds a related list for Configuration items to be able to see, which CIs have been assigned to the user.
Now when I click on one of those CIs, i get the CI form BUT it's the ITIL view of the CI (which normally does not even exist and I don't want it to exists. I hate to maintain different views. However. Is there a way to enforce the default view from the related list?

regards

Christian

Hello,

As you don't want to manage more that one view (the default view), I would do a "View Rule" with empty "View" field, that forces to have the Default view on cmdb_ci everywhere.

You can also imagine to add conditions on this view rule to make it work only when the CI matches the conditions to be in this related list.

Thanks for that advice... unfortunately this has to be put in for every table 🙂 So I have to make a rule for alle the CMDB tables 😉 Hard work, but'm i think, i'm gonna do this cause it has exactly the effect I want it to have.

Hi Christian,
All CMDB tables are "son" of the table "cmdb_ci", but there is no "heritage" mechanism for the view rules as I know (perhaps an enhancement request to log), so yes you'll have to do one rule per table.

Hello Chris/Alex,

I do have same question. I defined a view to show set of columns (in selected order) in list . Take a look at 'Major Incidents" view as shown in picture. However when I defined a related list (relationships) I can not see this view (shows default view). Can you guys able to assist?
