Error encountered while exporting or attaching pdf to a report.

In servicenow, when we run the scheduled report where the type is 'PDF', the respective pdf file is not attached with the report. Also, running Sharing > Export to PDF on the report displays "Error while generating pdf". Please help and provide the steps to fix the issue.
