Has anyone had experience with or seen any information about the length of time for ServiceNow to failover between their data centers? None of the documentation I have found on the Wiki or the Community talks about the duration of a failover event once triggered.

I have seen customers being switched between the data centers several times and can confirm Matt's figures - 5 mins.

What is involved from a customer perspective? Any action that needs to be taken? Do you need to change your DNS to point to the new location?

My experience is that, other than deciding whether or not to notify an outage internally, there is nothing for you to do. The operation is handled entirely by ServiceNow with a supporting Change ticket on the HI server.
And I "third" the 5 minute estimate. Each time it has happened in the last 3 or 4 years it's been transparent to our users (knock wood!!).
