Hi All,

We have created a new field on 'task' table as the part of one of the requirement. When we clicked on save button to create this field, it took very long time to create the field(there are very large number of records available in task table) and when finally field got created, It automatically got moved to "sys_metadata_delete" table.

Please let us know your inputs on why this has happened? Also how to recover this field? I see option "Restore file" on record in "sys_metadata_delete" table, but not sure if I use the option as I have not manually deleted this field.

Thanks in advance,
Akshay

Hi Akshay,

Are you not able to find it in Dictionary?

No, I can find the related record in "sys_metadata_delete" table but not in 'sys_dictionary' table.

Hi Akshay,

Is that field available on form or list? Did it ever get created?

If this is for your client instance you can raise a HI ticket with ServiceNow team and they can assist you more in this

Mark Correct if this solves your issue and also mark 👍 Helpful if you find my response worthy based on the impact.
Thanks
Ankur

Did you see the transaction timer come up and did it time out?  What interface were you using to add the field?

I have see this happen before when the transaction is cancelled.  But last I checked ServiceNow removed the transaction times for this kind of thing.
