fields are greyed out in catalog item form.

When i am raising a new request using self service portal, and while filling the form few fields are left greyed out.

For example location and direct manager.

Can you please help me out why this is happening?

An how it can be made editable.

The fields are probably marked as read-only. Either in the Dictionary of the field itself, or through a UI Policy/Catalog Client Script.

These variables might not be editable themselves and might be populated by whatever value that you set on Some other fields.


If you have Admin rights, you can easily see if these variables are marked Read-Only by a UI Policy, Client Script or the Variable have been marked as Read Only.



If you are not an Admin, contact your Service-Now Admin and ask him the reasons.

There should be a   UI policy/catalog client script which is making the variables read-only.
