As an admin, I can create a filter on the "Requested Items" list, and I can filter on a variable for a particular catalog item. So, for example, if the variable is a multiple choice variable, I get a drop-down selection (or a magnifying glass "lookup") for all of the possible values of that variable in my filter setup.
As an ITIL, if I try to create the same filter, I can add the variable to the filter condition, but I do *not* get the drop-down selection (or magnifying glass "lookup") that would allow me to select which value of the variable I want to filter on. I just get a free-text box in which to type the value.
So what is the missing piece that would allow the ITIL user to get the dropdown for variable values? An ACL?

Issue has been resolved. Set up an ACL with read access on the "Question" and the "Question_Choice" tables.
