Flow Designer Service Catalog get variables

I'm getting ready to move from workflow for flow for Service Catalog. I noticed that when I do Get Catalog variables it lets me pick the request item from the trigger but not the item. That appears to need to be hard coded. Does this mean that I have to create a flow for every catalog item even we have some standard ones? Such as Manager Approval with 1 task.

Yes that's how the "Service Catalog" trigger for flow works.

yes usually we create separate flows for each of the catalog items, publish them and associate them with the Catalog Item.

You can re-use the same flow but it's highly unlikely that process will be same.

If my response helped please mark it correct and close the thread so that it benefits future readers.

Hi @brianlan25

Yes, that is expected behavior and a built-in feature, as it follows and retrieves the catalog variables. Please proceed with the setup as provided by ServiceNow.

Hi Brian,

If a set of catalog items use same variables, you can select any one catalog item and it should work for all.

I have 73 Items that currently use the same workflow (and that is just one example as I have other standard workflow for catalog items). The only thing that could be different is the assignment group on the task. For that I have a table that has the item, assignment group so I can set the assignment group with an advanced script.
