Hi yandp,

I sometimes make configuration changes, the decide that I want to capture those in an Update set.  What I do is create a new update set, state: In progress.  Then I go to a list view of sys_update_xml, find the records I want, open each, and then change the 'Update set" field from "Global" to my newly created Update set.  Once I have all I want, I set the Update set to 'Complete'.

Or while the new update set is "current", open each record and make a change and save. Then open once more and reverse the change and save. The latest version of that record will be in your update set.  Once done, set the update set state to 'Complete'.

This might be what I need, but can you clarify your first option if you are opening each record by "Created" or "Update set"? Clicking the "Created" timestamp opens a "Customer update" record and enables changing the update set in a form (but leaves me with 50+ records to change). Clicking the "Update set" name opens an "Update set" record that has the update set name in the "Name" field and "Description" fields, but no "Update set" form input (but only has, in my case, only 4 records to update, assuming I accomplish changing the update set in the "Name" form field. I don't fully understand which record (created or update set) the second option is referring to, either.

Also, given that I have 50+ records to update (if using the "Created" record field, is there a more bulk oriented option? I.e. is there a way to clone an instance then save an update set that captures all the configurations of the dev instance?
