Group element filter is not working as expected in dashboards.

I have a requirement came in where client is not able to select more than one group in group element filter in dashobard.

when we select one group that is showing up on dashboard shows up for that particular group, but when selecting more than one group the data in the dashboard goes back to overall results, not for the selected groups.

please see the attached, can someone explain me the reason behind this.

To help you best possible, please share some snips from your breakdown and breakdown source - or is it the one OOTB? Have you verified that you get same results if you select two other groups?
