Edit: After watching the beginning of TechNow 80 on PAD and Playbook, I think I was trying to use PAD incorrectly. I should have been using Flows in the background of my process, rather than try to use PAD as a replacement for the classic Workflow tool.
When I add an activity, I see a checkbox "Include all automation assets" that lets me select a Get Catalog Variables action.
However, in the Automation tab, after I select the RITM and associated template (as I've done successfully in Flow Designer), no variables are displayed.
