As per the Servicenow docs, the picture in the My Profile page will be used as Avatar and Live Feed Picture, unless you have previously uploaded a different picture for live feed. Its more of, if the Live Feed picture is empty, then the profile picture will be taken as Avatar.
- Navigate to Self-Service > My Profile.
- In the Photo field, add a photo.
- Save the record.The photo is used as your avatar and your live feed profile picture, unless you previously uploaded a different picture for live feed. If you upload a different picture for live feed, the system uses the live feed picture.
