How can I change the column order (e.g., show Display Name first) in a reference field lookup

 Hi Experts,

I'm working on a form that includes a reference field pointing to the alm_asset table. When I click the lookup (🔍) icon to select an asset, the reference list view opens, but Display Name is not the first column — columns like State and Substate show first, which makes it hard to quickly identify assets.

I'd like to change the column order in that lookup window so Display Name appears first.

Here’s what I’ve tried or reviewed:

• Checked list layout via the gear icon in alm_asset.list

• Verified that I'm seeing the sys_ref_list view in the URL

• Not sure if the reference field uses a specific view or how to target only this lookup

My question is:

• How do I customize the reference list view shown when clicking the lookup icon for a reference field?

• Can I set this globally for alm_asset, or can it be scoped to a specific form or field?

Hi @ND7 ,

simply click on the magnification glass icon on the alm_assest reference field

configure -> list out and rearrange the columns
