Hi All,

We are trying provisioning for Azure AD to servicenow only for Group and add group members to relevant group. when I try to disable the user provisioning it throw error it seems we need to use user and group sync. Any ways to achieve only for group management.

Thanks in advance

Hi @Akshaya14 ,

If you want to configure Azure AD provisioning to ServiceNow only for group management, you can use Azure AD's group-based provisioning feature. With this feature, you can provision group memberships and group attributes from Azure AD to ServiceNow, without provisioning individual user accounts.

To enable group-based provisioning, follow these steps:

  1. In the Azure portal, navigate to the Azure AD instance that you want to use for provisioning.
  2. Select "Enterprise applications" from the left-hand menu.
  3. Click on the ServiceNow application that you want to configure.
  4. Select "Provisioning" from the left-hand menu.
  5. Under "Automatic provisioning," select "Configure" to configure the automatic provisioning settings.
  6. In the "Mappings" section, map the "Groups" attribute in Azure AD to the corresponding attribute in ServiceNow.
  7. Set the "Provisioning Mode" to "Group only" to enable group-based provisioning.
  8. Configure the other provisioning settings as desired.
  9. Save the changes.

With these settings, Azure AD will only provision group memberships and group attributes to ServiceNow. If you want to provision individual user accounts as well, you can change the "Provisioning Mode" to "Sync only" or "Sync with groups".

Note that if you have already enabled user provisioning and want to disable it, you will need to remove the provisioning configuration and the associated credentials from both Azure AD and ServiceNow. You can then reconfigure provisioning with the "Provisioning Mode" set to "Group only".

Hi @Ratnakar7 ,

Thanks for the reply. In Azure Ad in provisioning mode I can't able to see the 'configure' option.
