How do I stop group notification for some of the users?

Hello,

Issue : Notification "Incident assigned to me " is triggering to whoever assigned to incident as well as to a group email (assignmentGroup.group email). Not all the group members wants to get these group emails. 

I tried by turning off group notification on Notification Preference for individual user as shown in below screenshot but that did not stop group email to all the members. Is there anything  I am missing here? or how do I stop group notification for some of the users?

Why do you even have incident assigned to me triggering to be sent to the group as well? I would just remove the group from that notification. It should only be sent to the assigned to person.

It could be to keep an eye on how many incidents are getting created for group! So notification send email to AssignmentGroup. GroupEmail -ID which I can't change. But by turning off turning off group notification from preference shouldn't it stop group notification for that particular user?

Let me ask you this. Do you have an email address configured on the group in the group email filed? If that is the case turning of the group notification for the users will not work since the email is set to a DL instead.

Yes that is correct. Group email field is configured on assignment group and all the members of that group gets email. So there is no way to stop that group email to individual user?
