How do I stop group notification for some of the users?

Hello,

Issue : Notification "Incident assigned to me " is triggering to whoever assigned to incident as well as to a group email (assignmentGroup.group email). Not all the group members wants to get these group emails. 

I tried by turning off group notification on Notification Preference for individual user as shown in below screenshot but that did not stop group email to all the members. Is there anything  I am missing here? or how do I stop group notification for some of the users?

@Dhara1 Yes, you can not stop if you are using the DL. The alternative approach is, remove the group from who will receive section.

Create a mail script to query the members from assignment group and add each member to TO of email using the script. And call that email script in your notification.

There is no need for a mail script. The system will automatically send to each member of the group if not group email is assigned.

Yes, but if they want to keep the DL, mail script is needed.

Yes remove the email address it is not needed. The system would automatically send it to every member of the group. With the Group email gone turning off for individuals will work.

You turned of the 'assigned to group' notification, not the 'assigned to me'  notidfication, of which you say it's triggering for both recipients. It's weird that the assignment group also gets the email when it's the 'assigned to me'  notification that is triggered. Since you also have the group notification, just get the group out of the 'assigned to me'  notification.
