Hello

You can plan to use 'Team Development' which supports parallel development on multiple, non-production ServiceNow instances.

Every company is probably different.

I have been working on a project remotely and we have just been working in the same update set, but constantly communicating and doing code reviews to ensure we are never accidentaly creating collisions or over-writing one another.

Depending on your situation, you might be able to use update set batching, merging, or use source control.  There are lots of options out there.

Thank you Dustin
