Hi Burma,
The easiest way to do this using the following steps:
1. Open Service Catalog → Mobile Admin → Mobile Layout. This will bring up a list of the catalogs available on your mobile UI. Select the catalog you want to add to.
2. On this record is a related list called Catalog Items. Click the gear icon to modify the list, and add the "Availability" field.
3. Now you should see the availability field on your list. This field determines which UI types the catalog items will show in.There are three settings for this field. Change any catalog items you want displayed in the Mobile UI "Desktop and Mobile" or "Mobile Only".
There's also a Categories related list on the record, but you don't need to worry about that. Any category that contains a catalog item with "Desktop and Mobile" or "Mobile Only" availability will automatically show up.

Hi John,
Thanks for this. Just wanted to expand a little on this though as by default my categories were not showing up in the Service Catalog view regardless of whether or not I had set the item availability to 'Mobile and Desktop'.
I have now resolved this issue and want to share resolution steps with anyone else who has this problem.
1. Go to Mobile Admin > Mobile Layout
(By default this list will only show 'Catalog' field, so..)
2. Select the cog icon
3. Add 'Name' to list
4. Click the reference link which is displayed in the 'name' field for your chosen catalog (mine had a a value of "(empty)"
5. On the page which is subsequently revealed select 'edit' and add the categories you wish to display to the Categories in Mobile Layout List

Thanks, this one saved me a lot of reading!! 🙂
Some of my catalog items weren't showing up in the Service Catalog on my mobile app. I forgot about the 'Availability' field.
