How to add comments/worknotes from RIDAC tables on 'default status reports' template on workspace.

We have a requirement wherein we want to add the value of comments/worknotes from RIDAC tables on 'default status reports' template in Project Workspace.
We edited the template and have added the columns for worknote and additional comments
We are able to dotwalk from RIDAC to parent project and its journal fields, but we want to dotwalk from project to RIDAC tables.

We want the latest value of worknote/Additional comments in the column we have created as visible in SS.
How to achieve this?

Currently , in worknotes we are able to see the worknote which are from Project record and not from the risk. We need the worknote from risk record to be visible under worknote for risk column.

Hi @Damayanti Sarod,

Dot-walking from the Project down to RIDAC won’t work, because one project has many risks. Also, the status report reads from the baseline tables (e.g. risk_baseline) as a snapshot, not from the live risk records.

Workaround: store the latest note in a plain string field and show that field in the template.

  1. Create String fields on Risk (e.g. u_latest_work_note, u_latest_comment, max length 4000) and add the same fields to Risk baseline.
  2. Add a before update business rule on Risk:
if (current.work_notes.changes())
    current.setValue('u_latest_work_note', current.work_notes.toString());
if (current.comments.changes())
    current.setValue('u_latest_comment', current.comments.toString());
  • In the template, replace the dot-walked columns with Risk > Latest work note and Risk > Latest comment. If the fields don’t appear in the picker, check the Risk field mappings in Baseline Configuration.
  • Generate a new status report, since old ones are snapshots.
