How to adding a tab view to a catalog item?

Leonardo Ferrar

I need to group the catalog form fields into tabs.

Here is the example image:
When I click on tab 2, it looks like the fields for tab 2.
When I click on tab 1, it looks like fields for tab 1...

I found the same questions 4 years ago, but there was no solution ... Now is it possible? Can i do this without using an order guide ? If yes please tell me how.

I'm sorry Leonardo, I'm afraid I don't have much more to offer on this topic.

You are correct that the sections at the top can't be updated (that is part of the order guide framework)  The best I could think of would be add a variable to the Order Guide (Macro with Label) with a Question of "Click Choose Needs" to get the user past that point, and then they would see the individual items you add to guide as "tabbed" sections. It's not perfect, but - maybe? - better than nothing.

Unfortunately I'm not familiar with UI Groups (Blueprints) so I can't offer an opinion there.

As to somewhere to find guidance on creating beautiful catalog items - sigh - I've yet to find such a place, myself.

Sorry that I can't be of more assistance!

If this was helpful or correct, please be kind and click appropriately!

Currently there is not a platform solution to add tabbed sections to a catalog item; the closest approximation that you can achieve out of the box is to use the order guide approach, which isn't always ideal. It does get the job done in most cases however, so probably worth exploring.

I've seen a few custom solutions for those who use the Service Portal, but it requires quite a bit of "magic" to make it look right and work the way you want. There aren't any easily accessible examples that I'm aware of.

Probably not what you were hoping for....

I was searching for ordering guides ... Apparently I can't even change the name of the guides, it's always "Describe Needs", "Choose Options" and "Checkout".

I saw that it might be possible to create guides using UI groups (blueprint). Can you tell me if it helps me? If so, where can I find more clear and explanatory examples and documentation?

Is there a place that teaches you how to make beautiful forms of catalog items?
