How to build servicenow bot for internal organization like IT, HR, Finance and other departments!

Hi All,

I have plans to build a chat bot for servicenow for internal organization departments like IT helpdesk, HR, Finance and other related departments in an organization.

If we take an example for HR, this chat bot should give an options... if user selects an option HR, it should give some options like generate payslips, info related to travel policy, information on COBC policy, info on new joinee deck etc.....

Could any one help me how to start in developing this kind of bot.

At present: I have a internal instance of service now. From couple of posts i have got to know that we need to install eclipse and ODBC driver for service now.

Could any one tried it before or has knowledge on doing this. This would be really helpful if any one guide me to proper resource/info.

There is a Watson based virtual agent available for download on Share: ServiceNow Share


Also note that we are planning to release a powerful chatbot using all ServiceNow technology for the conversation design, that you can then seamleslly push to additional external clients like slack or microsoft teams. I mention this because if you spend alot of development resources and time building a home grown bot, you should consider that we should have one that meets your needs in ~ 6 months with the London release.

The scenario you describe is a very common one that our customer's are solving with the Sofi Virtual Agent for ServiceNow. In addition to the Virtual Agent functionality, Sofi also provides the federated, natural language searching across ServiceNow and other repositories.   Sofi also provides a UI for service agents that provides predictive guidance to help resolve issues faster.



You can access a free trial of Sofi to install on your non-production ServiceNow instance to explore Sofi's out of the box capabilities.



Here is a quick example of the Sofi Virtual Agent functioning on a ServiceNow Portal page. We also have support for other channels such as Slack and Skype for Business.
