Need expert advise or guidance. I have a catalog item in production and there is a requirement to have a content card that will direct to the catalog item.  I search the community and was not able to find a how to do catalog item content card. Therefore, asking if anyone have any blog or articles on how to perform that activity. Would like that when the catalog item is select the content in figure 1 is show with the ability to click on the request icon and then the catalog item will be opened.

Your collaboration, assistance and/or education will be greatly appreciated.

To have something in your service catalog NOT direct a user straight to the catalog item, but a separate page, you could use content items. Before being able to create the content item, if you must create exactly what you show above, you'll need to create a new portal page: Service Portal>Pages (in left-hand nav), and a new portal widget (Service Portal>Widgets). Once the widget is created, you would add an instance of that widget to the page, and then in the content item, it will ask for a URL to redirect the user too, and you'd add the URL for the new portal page you just built.

Any reason why this information can't just be on the catalog item itself in the Name, Short Description, and Description of the catalog item? I'm not sure I understand what adding an extra click does for the end user. To have it identical to what you have showing would likely require a new portal page, and custom widget developed, and then an altered mechanism to get users to this page rather than being driven straight to the item itself.

Ryan  I agreed with your analysis/assessment. However, management is requesting the content card and was not able to change their mind. Therefore, if you have a blog or any article that help me with the process or work you delineate in you replied please forward it to me. I will appreciated.
