How to create a custom field which will update the activity log and clears the values in it?

Hi All,

I have a requirement where I have created a field of string type in a table. I want this field to behave like a journal input field. It should clear the value from it once the form is saved or updated. I have labeled this field as 'Comments'. I have created an 'Activity Log' section for this form. I want to update the activity log by this 'Comments' field value for every update.

 

How can we achieve this? This field should clear its value for every update and that value should populate in the activity log of the form.

Any help will be appreciated!

If you want it to behave like a journal field, why don't you make it a journal field?

Thank you for your reply, I have one journal field already in the form. But when I added an activity log in the form, that journal field was not visible separately. As you can see in the above question's screenshot, we need to add comments in below activity log. I'm not able to see that comments field separately.

Have you configured the Activity formatter to include the new journal field?
