How to create "Copy incident number" like "Copy sys_id" (Context menus)?

Hi Team,

We need one requirement like below:

As all knows, we can copy the sys_id/copy URL from top of each ticket. In the same way, how can we copy the Particular incident ticket number with URL? we need to implement same link like copy the sys_id/copy URLcontect menus (Copy Incident Number).

For example, If I right click on incident ticket it will give incident number with url :like this INC001234

Please help me to provide solution.

Can you clarify what you mean by:

we need to show the number with hyperlink of that ticket URL.

Do you want the number copied to the clipboard or the hyperlink (URL) which already exists? Or something else?

A screen mock up would be terrific!

Thank you for the clarification Prasanna. I'm trying to wrap my head around the user experience.

Today, they

• use their mouse to highlight
• copy to the clipboard

Seems pretty straight forward.

Let me know if I'm incorrect in what you propose:

What you propose is:

• Right click a record
• Select copy number
• A message with a link is display, which they click
• Then they have a message with the number to select and copy?

This doesn't seem very efficient and definitely not easier than just taking the number from the list manually. Before going through the effort of developing a solution, I need to understand how it is going to save people time and effort. IN other words, what's the return on investment?

I look forward to your response and any corrections to the process of copying numbers.

We need to display the following url when clicking on "Create Number":

https://instancename.service-now.com/nav_to.do?task_id=TASK0015580, If we copy this and paste into new tab, it should open "TASK0015580" ticket.

Please let me know the possible solutions.
