How to Enable/Disable Strict Mode for Read-Only Script Includes in ServiceNow

Hello ServiceNow Experts, 

I’m facing an issue where a read-only Script Include is throwing strict mode errors, even though I haven’t explicitly used "use strict" in my code. Since the Script Include is locked due to the read policy, I can’t modify it to investigate further or make changes.

What I Need Help With:

  1. Why would I encounter strict mode errors without explicitly enabling "use strict"?
  2. Is there a way to disable strict mode for this Script Include or avoid the error entirely?
  3. Any suggestions or workarounds to handle strict mode errors in such scenarios?

I’d greatly appreciate any guidance, best practices, or insights from the community!
