How to Fetch RITM Variables in Flow Designer to Send Notifications, Update States, and Create Tasks?

Hi Community,

I have a scenario where:

  • Certain catalog variables are hidden on the Service Portal but visible on the Requested Item (RITM) form.
  • After the RITM is submitted, I need to:
    • Send a notification based on the selected choice in one of the RITM variables.
    • Update the RITM state and stage.
    • Update the Request (REQ) stage.
    • Create Catalog Tasks dynamically based on those variable values.

I have already configured the hiding part using UI Policies and ensured the Variable Editor is present on the RITM form. The challenge I’m facing is:

How can I fetch the RITM variable values in Flow Designer so that I can use them for branching logic, notifications, state updates, and task creation?

This is already configured in the workflow now I want to convert that workflow to flow designer attaching the workflow screenshot for reference.

Greetings @LeelaVinodK,

There is actually a Flow Designer action called "Get Catalog Variables". I'll include link to ServiceNow documentation below along with a screenshot of the activity from my PDI. I hope this answers your question and always interested in what others have to share.

Get Catalog Variables action
