Hello ,
Study the Quick go through on CMDB basics:
1) CI (Configuration Item): Any tracked component of the IT/business environment (server, app, service, etc.) 2) CI Classes: Hierarchy of tables extending cmdb_ci (e.g., cmdb_ci_server, cmdb_ci_appl) each class adds specific attributes.
3) CI Data Modelling: Designing/extending CMDB schema correctly, ideally following ServiceNow's CSDM framework.
4) Install Base Item: An actual deployed instance of a product linked to a CI.
5) Product Inventory: Available/unsold stock of a product model.
6) Sold Product: A product instance that's been sold to a customer.
7) CI Relationships: How CIs connect (Runs on/Runs, Depends on/Used by, etc.) key for impact analysis.
😎 Service Offering: A specific variant of a Business Service with its own SLAs/supporting CIs.
