We are investigating whether it is possible to hide the standard Save button (OOTB Save button) in the Source-to-Pay workspace based on the record’s status.
Is it possible to modify the out-of-the-box (OOTB) Save button using UX Client Scripts and GlideAjax?
Is it impossible to hide the OOTB Save button using client scripts or UX Client Scripts without modifying the HTML via DOM manipulation?
Also, if it is possible to hide it using UX Client Scripts and GlideAjax, I would appreciate it if you could explain how to do so.
If you know of a method, I would appreciate your guidance.
Thank you in advance.

if user doesn't satisfy Table.None WRITE ACL then they won't see the Save button
Why to hide that button?

Hi @hamatu
Technically I hv no solution for this now, but from process side I think it is not a good or valid use case. Save Button given by design and ootb to help agent to stay on page or form instead of opening it again from start
If you remove save Button then how agent will save a record? There is no way so keep this button and avoid any technical debt.

As already informed by me you should control the visibility of the button using Table level WRITE ACL
if you still want to hide then check the OOTB UI action "Save" on global table and try to hide by updating conditions in both the UI actions as this
Existing Condition && current.getTableName() != 'yourtable name'
I updated OOTB Save button for Existing record and it was gone from INC table
Before
After

Hi @hamatu ,
Navigate to System Definition > UI Actions.
Filter the records using sys_id = f4deef100b701300099a83eb37673a4d.
Open the record, right-click the header, and select Insert and Stay.
In the newly created record, update the following fields:
Table = Supplier Case [sn_slm_case]
Overrides = Save button (use the sys_id to filter the Save button)
Format for Configurable Workspace = trueUpdate the Condition field as required. In this case, the Save button is hidden when the state is Work in Progress:
!current.isNewRecord() && current.canWrite() && current.state != 30
