how to increase the length of a field?

Hi Developers,

As per my knowledge , DESCRIPTION filed is taking 255 characters , if i want to enter about 600 characters then it will not take. So what should i do to increase the length of description field. 

Shall i take it as a multiline text or anything there to increase the length?

I know its a basic question but as i am a learner , what ever the doubt is coming posting here?

Right click on form header and click on configure--> form design.

Click on gear symbol on the side of description field and change the max length

Mark as correct or helpful based on the impact.

Please increase the max length of the field.

Right click on fiied>configure dictionary.

You can directly update the length, go into the description dictionary

You need to Right click corresponding form 

Look for necessary field & modify the Max Length value for the same.
