How to resolve "App Engine Studio is not installed on this instance" issue?

I am trying to use my Tokyo PDI to build an app, but there is a banner that reads: "App Engine Studio is not installed on this instance. You can install App Engine Studio by activating the plugin on your instance"

I have painstakingly followed all the steps in the documentation. I have successfully installed and updated App Engine Studio and loaded demo data, and yet I'm still getting the message that App Engine Studio is not installed. Am I doing something wrong, or is it a bug? Once again, I have completely and successfully installed App Engine Studio.

Please see screenshots. Is there something else that needs to be done?

Hi @Keerthu_S , No. this has not been resolved. This is a bug and the banner is still appearing. I've tried the suggestions in this thread (Including just waiting for several weeks) and I've also used 4 different browsers, cleared my cache, recycled my login, uninstalled and re-installed APP Engine Studio, and a few other things. Nothing works. I'm able to use the Engine, but the banner will not go away. I don't think it ever will unless maybe I release my PDI and apply for a new one? But I'm not going to do that. All I can do is ignore the error banner.

Hi @lucky25 ,

Please share a screenshot here please!!

@Community Alums Just wanted to let you know that even after 5 days, the banner is still there. So, I do believe this is a bug that SN needs to fix.

Lucky25,

Please follow the steps listed below and please look at the attached screenshots for a visual reference. If this is helpful, please give me a thumbs up.

1. First, you need to log into ServiceNow. (You cannot do anything from the documentation)

2. Find the Nav Bar (that's the main search bar in the far upper left corner when you open the ALL menu)

3. Search for "All Available Applications" then click the "ALL" link in the All Available Applications sub-menu.

4. Then type "App Engine Studio" in the application search. (See screenshot 2)

5. Scroll down until you see "App Engine Studio" then click the button that says Install/Update All

6. Check the "Load Demo Data" checkbox if you want demo data included then click the "Install" button.

That's it. wait for it to install.

I installed AES yesterday morning. The banner is still there today. If and when that dumb banner disappears, I'll mark your reply as the solution. Until then, I don't have enough faith in ServiceNow that the banner will ever go away.

Hi @MH_Vent ,

Apart from the banner error, do you still don't see "AES" on your application navigator?
