How to restrict a Catalog item to a particular group of members?

Hi all,

I have a requirement where I am suppose to restrict a particular catalog item to a group. Is it possible? If yes, please help me to know the possible solutions.

You can assign a role to a catalog item (below image) and then assign that role to that particular group so that only the members of that group can access the catalog item.

You can add group in catalog item "not available for" in related list in advanced view.

In my opinion this is the most straight forward "by the framework" way of doing it..... As long as the users of the system are managed well.
