How to Set Up a Filter for String Fields in Database View Report on Dashboard?

I created a report based on a database view and added it to a dashboard. Now, I want to filter the report based on the Name field, which is a string field (not a reference field). However, interactive filters are not working for this field.

How can I set up a filter to work with string fields in a database view report on a dashboard?

I am not an expert but is the same filter working at report level? Because keeping sting as filter is not a good way or much recommended.

Yes , at report level I can filter but on the dashboard using interactive filters no. I am unable to add that name field in "Interactive reference filters". They want to filter the application service by name which is not a reference field
