How to set up timeline visualisations

Hi everyone,

Please can some one help me and show me how to set up time line visualisations on my test service now instance. I have been through the documentation and cannot make this work. All I am looking to do is set up a visualisation which shows the various categories for the changes as the lanes and then the start dates as the panels with the short decription as the title bars. This seems easy?

Here is my raw data

Here is my timeline visualtion criteria

When I go back to open changes and click timeline visualisation, this is what I see :

You can see I am looking at this month and no changes are listed and the lanes are not showing the category just unknown.

This is what it shows under filtering conditions:

I don't understand where it is picking up the activity due state on the filter conditions :

I read on one article you needed another Form view Selection so here is this criteria:

I have really tried to sort this out but it is just not playing ball. Please can someone show me the error of my ways.

Thanks

Andrew

Hi,

These are all the timeline options I can see until Timeline visualisations and you can see I only have the one I created referencing the change table

Thanks

Ok, now I am really confused, I deleted all timeline visualisations and ran the time line visualisatiion for open changes, same view as before so it didn't seem to be referencing the time line visualtion I had put in. Not sure if it is time to call a priest and get a cross yet? I would have expected my visualisation to error or atleast change from the view I was getting previously.

Brilliant! I have hit the helpful button based on the domain name!

Lol. I am just starting out but I was out with a friend and we were discussing vendor documentation and we said there were loads of it but doesn't take you through a senario to show you how it all works put together. Therefore I decided to try put my own together for ServiceNow to show people what I meant and show how it could possiblily be done. So my blog shows a few different things, how to's, a webinar, various articles on management and ITIL. Would be great to get any feedback on the video's especially
