How to set users to get Homepage view by default in UI 16 view

Hello,  

We recently switched all our users to have only UI16 view and what we see is for 1 user when logs in it is redirecting by default to PA Dashboard, though we dont have PA licence up yet and not configured anboaydashboard it is still redirecting to Dashboard view.

When User log in what i see is to auto populating the pa_dashboard.do in the UR. Please help me out to reset the user record

Hello

Impersonate that user and click on the gear icon at the top left corner, in the general section check homepages (if dashboards) is selected. Refresh the page and this should fix your issue.

If refreshing didn't help, Try reimpersonating back(basically try to establish a new session).

You could delete the 'homepage' user preference for that user (which would re-establish the default homepage).  You could also delete the 'com.snc.pa.ui.preferences_dashboards' user preference (which would eliminate any connection to a dashboard) You can find these under 'User Administration -> User Preferences'.  Then just search for the preference name and user.

Great Mark that helps user was having my_home_navigation_page as $pa_dashboard.do under Value when i change to default it worked. BTW can you please brief me something more about it how did it got changed ? 

I keep reading about User Preferences but never get much information can please let me know how it got change to pa.dashboard and what is the purpose of user preferences ?

There are a lot of ways that it could have been changed so it's hard to speak to that specifically.  As far as user preferences, they are used to store user-specific system preferences for each user in the system.  They are almost always automatically set so you don't generally go in and work with them unless there's some problem.  Everything from number of rows to show in a list, to the last module clicked on, to a user's preferred homepage is stored in there.
