Hi Team,
I don't have much knowledge on Knowledge Management .
Kindly help me with your inputs ,
How do articles will be retried ? :
OOB System will retire the article automatically by default once current date > Valid_to date without user intervention ?
OR
Article Owner / Admin/ Manager has to click on Retire button Manually to retire the article after Valid_to date met ?

Hi @Supriya25 ,
By default Knowledge articles get expired (if valid to date is passed), in order to retire an article we have to manually click on the Retire button which will retire the article.
OOO article Publish and Retire workflows are available. Based on the requirement we can alter the workflow.
Please refer the below article.
Please mark the answer helpful or solution accepted it answers your query.
thanks,

Hi,
So valid _to passed Article will be expired or outdated by system automatically as per Default OOB.
So system doesn't retire article by default. if we want to retire any Article we have to click on Retired button to retire it right?

Hi @Supriya25 ,
That's correct in order to retire we need to click on Retire button.
When this knowledge article expires (automatically by system when valid to date is passed). Articles do not appear when browsing or searching after the valid to date, or if the valid to date is empty.
Then we do create newer version of the article by clicking the checkout button and save. (if any changes to make we can do for the article).
Newer version of the article gets created. (the older version will be outdated automatically)
Please mark helpful/solution accepted if it solves your query.
thanks.

HI @Supriya25
An article in Retired state is visible only to the Owner and Manager(s) of the knowledge base where the article lives. It will not appear in knowledge searches or global searches. It can be returned to Draft state to return to the workflow if it becomes relevant again or is retired by mistake.
Thanks
