Idea Portal Record Producer Categories

I have created a record producer for Idea intake form rather than the widget to easily add more fields if needed. I am facing a problem with the categories not displaying within the idea itself. I do understand categories is on a separate table, and that the widget should be modified, although not sure how. I did use the category table for my list collector but I obviously cannot map the field since idea and categories are on different tables. 

Any suggestions?
