Initiating a global search through a URL

Hi,

does anyone know if it is possible to initiate a global search within ServiceNow through a URL?

I.e. I would like to be able to put a link on a sharepoint site that contains a search term like "company.service-now.com/search?searchterm=thisiswhatiamlookingfor"

The scenario I am thinking of is that a user is looking for a specific IT related information in our sharepoint environment. In case sharepoint does not give satisfactory results the user can click a button in sharepoint that will encourage him/her to initiate a search in ServiceNow as well by transferring the search term specified in sharepoint to serivcenow through the URL like mentioned in the example above.
