Hi Team ,

can anyone please help me here .

Investigate Email integration in Staging/Dev environment for ServiceNow .

There is an increasing requirement for the ability to test email notifications in ServiceNow Staging or Dev .
In the past I have been advised that we cannot "Turn On" email integration due to the fact that this will result in 10's of thouands of messages crrently in the Non Prod back log suddenly being triggered.
We need a solution for this.

Some areas of investigation might be:
1. Is there a way to purge these backlogged emails?
2. Is it possible to set up a default inbox for emails triggered from servicenow non-prod to be redirected to?

How should we do this , can any one please help me with steps and screenshots for better understanding .

You can have a mailbox setup in Outlook (i.e., sndevnotifications@test.net) and then add the mailbox in the Email Properties. Prior to enabling the property to send email, you can delete all the backlogged emails from the Outbox.

You can follow these steps in your sub-production instance after the mailbox is created in Outlook:

  1. Go to Outbox (under System Mailbox > Outbound).

  2. Delete all the emails waiting to be sent.
  3. Go to Email Properties (under System Properties).

  4. Check "Yes" to enable email, and enter the mailbox in Outlook in the field below:

  5. Select "Save".

After these steps are completed, every notification in your sub-production instance will be sent to the sndevnotifications@test.net mailbox.
