Is it possible to make a catalog item field a type of price or currency?

I have a catalog item in which i have a field that I created called amount.

I want that amount field to be a variable type of price or currency and I don't see those types available.

I also reviewed some other articles in the community and i found this one: Set Value of a field with data type "price" .

So I are these field types available. If so, how do activate them.

We dont have option to create Price or currency type in service catalog, but you can use OOB Price on Item level.

There is a option to price in choice list you can add price for different choices.

So I don't think that will help me.

I have a Service Catalog form that has an amount field that I need to be used like the price field on the catalog cart.

Can I .dot walk that price field on a form? Not sure if that is even possible.

Can you tell us the requirement?

Why do you want to use amount field? You can also set a price for catalog in the catalog item itself.

The price can also be dynamically calulated from a variable.

Why do you want to give Requester an option to enter the amount?

I just provided the requirement for the amount and also the issue. I think you responded before I put that information in the question.
